The project aimed at professionalization of evaluation in the countries of Eurasian region through developing strategic partnerships between VOPEs and academic institutions (universities) at the national level. There are many examples of fruitful long-term collaboration between VOPEs and academic institutions in countries like Australia, Canada, Germany, South Africa, USA. Being completely different by nature, VOPEs and academic institutions unite under a common mission of developing evaluation profession. Such strategic partnerships with academic institutions will reinforce VOPEs and make them more influential, increase their ability to play strategic roles in strengthening the enabling environment for evaluation within their countries. Academic institutions are also benefiting from collaboration with VOPEs: they develop better educational programs; access evaluation practitioners who are willing to teach; recruit highly motivated students. This collaboration will contribute in getting new and young generation of evaluators.
